FAQ's

Is Kids Connection a licensed childcare facility?
Yes, all of our childcare centers are licensed and monitored by the Wisconsin Department of Children & Family Services, and rated by Youngstar, Wisconsin’s childcare quality rating and improvement system.

Do your facilities have secured entrances?
Yes, our childcare centers have a secured front door that stays locked at all times. Parents are given a code at the registration process.

If my child becomes sick at Kids Connection how long do I have to pick them up?
We ask that you try to come within an hour of being notified. Your child can be picked up in the office where he/she will be resting and away from the other children in the center.

What type of curriculum is followed at Kids Connection?

We follow a theme based curriculum. Each week we choose a new theme to implement into our lesson plans. Lesson plans are made on a weekly basis. Upon enrolling with Kids Connection, every child has a portfolio that moves with them throughout their time at our center. In each portfolio is a developmental checklist, observations made by teachers, anecdotal notes, and monthly goals.  Upon observation of each child, an individualized monthly goal is created. Lesson plans reflect the goals created for each child. After six months of observations and goals, short conferences are held to discuss developmental milestones with parents.

What are your hours of operation?
Our main centers are open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.  Please contact our Directors for summer program and before and after school specifics.

How are parents kept informed about their child’s progress?
We take great care to communicate with parents at drop off and pick up times. Kids Connection does two evaluations per year and offers a parent conference each time. We utilize the Hi Mama application which assists us in communicating with parents throughout the day. Parents are welcome to schedule a teacher meeting any time they want to speak about their child, or any issue in their child’s classroom.

What is the educational level of the teacher?
Teachers meet or exceed all state requirements for their specific job title.  Many teachers have credentials relative to the early childhood education field and all are on the Wisconsin Registry.  Teachers have training and certifications in CPR, Shaken Baby Syndrome, Child Abuse and Neglect, Sids, and Active Shooter.
